D4147 is a low-power ground fault circuit breaker (GFI) controller used to detect dangerous current paths to ground and ground to neutral faults. The application circuit of D4147 can disconnect the load before electric shock causes damage.
The D4147 internally includes a diode rectifier, a high-precision 12V bandgap parallel regulator, a precision low VOS offset induction amplifier, a delay noise filter, a window detection comparator, and a thyristor driver. By using as few external devices as possible, D4147 can detect and protect against live line to ground faults and zero line to load short circuits.
The D4147 circuit includes a built-in rectifier with low static current and a parallel regulator, so it can be paired with high resistance and low power current limiting resistors. Built in parallel voltage regulator with temperature compensation, induction amplifier, and bias circuit, providing high-precision ground fault detection. The low VOS offset induction amplifier allows the induction coil to be directly coupled to the feedback signal end of the amplifier, without the need for a large capacity 50/60Hz AC coupling capacitor. The built-in delay filter can filter out high-frequency noise spikes in inductive loads, reducing false and harmful triggering. The built-in thyristor driver has temperature compensation, which can meet the driving current requirements of most external thyristors.
